Data Directory
The data directory is the location where the Riecoin Core files are stored, in particular the wallets, the riecoin.conf, and blockchain data. When Riecoin-Qt is started for the first time, it will ask to provide one. By default, the path is
- On Windows:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Bitcoin\, usuallyC:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Riecoin- Formerly, before 2501, or if such previous version was upgraded to 2501+,
C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Riecoin - Hidden Files may have to be displayed to see the
AppDatafolder
- Formerly, before 2501, or if such previous version was upgraded to 2501+,
- On Linux:
/home/user/.riecoin
The directory can be overridden with the -datadir command line option. To reset the default data directory, the simplest way is to move the current folder to the new location (after stopping Riecoin Core if needed). This causes the data directory dialog to appear again in the next start so the new path can be set.
